Title: Meeting the Water Pollution Challenge: Innovative Applications and Advantages of Daltonen Anti-Pollution Reverse Osmosis Membrane PRO Series

With the global water crisis becoming increasingly severe, especially in regions where industrialization and urbanization are accelerating, water pollution has become a major challenge restricting the sustainable development of society and economy.

According to the "Global Water Resources and Water Treatment Technology Market Report 2024," the global water treatment industry market size is expected to reach $350 billion by 2026, with membrane separation technology, especially reverse osmosis membrane technology, accounting for the main share of the market. For industrial wastewater treatment, about 60% of industrial wastewater worldwide needs reverse osmosis treatment. With increasingly strict environmental protection policies, it is expected that by 2025, more than 50% of industrial wastewater will be required to meet high-standard reuse standards.

In particular, in industries such as petrochemical, metallurgy, power, and food and beverage, water quality pollution issues are becoming more prominent. According to data from the International Water Association (IWA), the metallurgical industry discharges 15 billion cubic meters of highly polluted wastewater annually, and the petrochemical industry's wastewater contains a large amount of organic matter, oil, and heavy metals. Traditional water treatment methods can no longer meet the increasingly high discharge standards. For these industries, adopting membrane technology with high anti-pollution and low maintenance requirements is the key to improving water treatment efficiency and reducing production costs.

To meet market demands, the industry urgently needs to develop more efficient, stable, and powerful anti-pollution membrane technology. The innovation and application of this technology will be of great significance to improving water quality, increasing water resource utilization, and protecting the environment.

Application Fields

1.Industrial Wastewater Treatment

In industrial fields such as petrochemical, power, metallurgy, pharmaceutical, and food processing, wastewater usually contains a large amount of suspended solids, organic pollutants, oils, heavy metals, etc., and conventional water treatment methods cannot meet the high-standard discharge requirements. The PRO series membrane is widely used in the following key process sections:

Pre-treatment Stage: The Daltonen® PRO series membrane elements can efficiently remove large-particle suspended solids, oils, and some dissolved organic matter from water, reducing the burden on subsequent treatment and preventing pollutant deposition on the membrane surface. The efficient decontamination ability at this stage significantly improves the stability and service life of subsequent membrane components.

Reverse Osmosis Stage: In the core treatment stage of industrial wastewater, the Daltonen® PRO series membrane elements can effectively remove dissolved salts, heavy metals (such as lead, cadmium, chromium, etc.), and other harmful substances from water, ensuring that the discharge water quality meets industry standards and recovering more water resources to reduce production costs.

Concentrate Water Treatment: The Daltonen® PRO series membrane elements perform outstandingly in the concentrate water treatment process, efficiently separating pollutants from concentrated wastewater, reducing wastewater discharge, and enhancing resource recovery efficiency.

2.Seawater Desalination

With the growing demand for seawater desalination, especially in water-scarce regions, the high efficiency and anti-pollution characteristics of the Daltonen® PRO series membrane elements make them a key technology in the seawater desalination field. Their applications include:

Pre-treatment Stage: The Daltonen® PRO series membrane elements can efficiently remove suspended solids, plankton, colloidal substances, and organic pollutants from seawater, providing cleaner feed water for subsequent reverse osmosis treatment and reducing pre-treatment costs.

Reverse Osmosis Desalination Stage: The Daltonen® PRO series membrane elements can stably operate in high-salinity and complex water quality environments, effectively removing salts, chlorides, heavy metals, and microorganisms from seawater to provide high-quality freshwater.
